The Arctic Man is going to create a Book!

24 YEARS and TALES of ARCTIC MAN.

We are looking for TALES and STORIES from Racers, Spectators, Volunteers, Helpers that have been at one or any of the Arctic Man that want to share TALES or STORIES.

The book will be designed starting with Race 1 in 1986 until Race 24 in 2009. This book will talk about the event, racers and stories.

Please help us create this book.
Proceeds from all sales will go to the PURSE!!!

The Arctic Man is a unique event that has grown to be one of the major winter events held within the state of Alaska wilderness. The 2009 Arctic Man is the 24nd anniversary, that’s twenty-four years of adrenaline rush and speed.

THE ARCTIC HAS TWO CAMERA CREWS THIS YEAR TO FILM THE EVENT.

1. ONE SHOW WILL BE SHOWN ON NBC ON APRIL 26TH 2009 " time will be announced later."

2. ONE SHOW WILL BE AIRED ON BBC SHOW IN EUROPE. " TIME AND DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED."

BE READY ANOTHER GREAT EVENT TO RUN THIS YEAR AFTER THE SKI RACE!!!

ARCTIC MAN SNO-GO CHALLENGE WILL START AT ABOUT 1:30 PM :

START TOP OF FIRST AID AND FINISH BELOW THE START AT THE TIT

SO PLEASE STAY OFF THE COURSE!!!! AFTER THE SKI RACE SO WE CAN GET SET UP!!!!

The Arctic Man is a race for teams of two skilled competitors that tests the strength of an athlete and the horsepower of a snowmobile. Courage and training are essential elements of this team of snowmobile and skier.

The Arctic Man is one of the World's Toughest Downhill Ski races, and an exciting snowmobile race, all in one. The skier begins at a summit elevation of 5,800 feet and drops 1700 feet in less than two mile to the bottom of a narrow canyon where he meets up with his snowmobiling partner.
The snowmobiler meets the skier, on the go, with a tow rope and pulls the skier 2 1/4 miles uphill at top speeds of up to 86 mph. The skier and the snowmobile then separate and the skier goes over the side of the second mountain and drops another 1200 feet to the finish line.

At the Arctic Man you " GO FAST or GO HOME."

Last year approximately 13,000 spectators came from around the nation as well as different countries around the world to enjoy this spectacular Alaskan event. The area the race is held is some of the best snowmachine riding country in the world. The snowcapped peaks and beauty make this spring event one that you will treasure for a lifetime.
